Butter, our delightful Braque du Bourbonnais female, hails from France. We acquired her from Bryan Guillory of Frozen Point Kennels. She’s exceptionally alert and focused, constantly on the prowl. Butter’s dynamic character shines through in her speed – she effortlessly outpaces the pack, playfully nipping at the trailing dog. Her affectionate nature makes her a precious member of our pack. Another unique trait of Butter is her naturally short tail. We eagerly anticipate the arrival of her puppies!

Johnny is the son of Voyageurs Point Pete, an imported BdB from Switzerland. He is one of the most affable, kind-hearted dogs we have. We wouldn’t normally point this out, because most Braque Du Bourbonnais behave like that – but he is just so remarkable, with a great personality. He has been working with birds now, and will start hunting with us this fall. Johnny also has a natural, short tail. 

Viola is a force to be reckoned with. She is mischievous, dominant, and strong. She shows interest in trouble, but loves unconditionally. She’s sweet yet sassy, and just a honey to have around. She shows all the characteristics of a perfect bird dog. She will join the breeding program next year pending Hip test.

Acorn’s sister CC is Maggie’s twin. When she gets on something, she is laser-focused. Almost NOTHING will pull her off the scent. CC, much like Maggie, is deliberate and precise when she’s in the field. At home, she’s loving and mellow. CC likes her space but has no problem invading yours for some snuggles and pets.  She is one of the most beautiful dog we have ever seen. She will join the breeding program next year pending Hip test.

Acorn is the MINI ME of Ellie. She reminds us so much of Ellie, but is long-legged and agile. She did hunting training at 6 months and came back a hunting machine. She is deliberate and a well-controlled hunting dog. She’s sweet but she is ornery! She surprises us with her inventive ways to show her love to us. But the love she has is endless. She and C.C. (who are sisters) are like mirror images of our other sister set Maggie and Elli. She’s a force in the field but a love at home. She will join the breeding program next year pending Hip test.

Ash is owned by Kelly L. of South Dakota. Here’s what he has to say about Ash:

“I have never seen a dog with its nose to the ground as much as Ash. She is always hunting. Huge drive. She will stop long enough for some love but then back to work! She was the only female in the litter and I believe she got a little extra love from Steve and Amber because she has that the loving nature because she is an outstanding mother. Whelps with ease and and milks like a Holstein!”

Sauer is owned by Chuck and Regina of South Dakota. Here’s what they have to say about Sauer:

Sauer came into our house at eight weeks of age. He started hunting pheasants at 10 months of age. Sauer was hunted with my 12-year-old GSP. He was a consistent hunter and held point very well. He learned quickly and was hunting like a veteran by the second month of season. He honored points by my GSP and learned to visually see that she was on point, as he would lock up and creep in on the point. I now have three dogs and get many 3-dog points, as they honor each other. He does not break birds and allows me to position myself for the shot. He is a very lovey dog and craves attention. He is friendly towards other people but does bark on anyone’s arrival. I have had pointing dogs for 50 years and he is among the top dogs I have owned.

Ellie was the Alpha of her litter and is one of the bird craziest dogs you will ever meet. She is all muscle and always on the go. Ellie was trained with Tate Martinson at Martinson Red Point Kennels.
Ellie at 10 months old tried for the NAVHDA natural ability test and although she scored an 89, she wowed the judges for the fact that she went and found 2 different sets of pheasants, and she also got up a raft of ducks! Ellie was also forced fetched by MRPK. This girl has the greatest prey drive imaginable, as soon as she sees us loading up the truck she goes into a frenzy!
She is the snuggliest, most loyal dog. She is my shadow and so well behaved. We often joke that she could do a crossword puzzle because she’s so smart.

Gus is just COOL. Gus is so laid back and everyone just loves him. Right now he’s the typical teenage boy strutting around the kennel like he owns it. He’s attentive to things around him but not bothered by distractions. Gus has been an intense participant in hunting school, and has shown to be an avid and eager hunter.

Maggie is a perfect specimen of a Braque du Bourbonnais. She is an inspired dog in the field and one of the gentlest dogs you will find once the hunt is over. At 9 months old, she finished her hunting training and did extremely well scoring a prize 1, 112 perfect score. She worked on all aspects of pointing and tracking and has had many birds shot over her. She’s a fantastic mother and is just the most deliberate dog in the field. It is almost as if she planned the hunt for two days. She knows where she is going and what she is going to get when she steps on that field. Maggie is also a super lover. If she’s in the car, She has to always be touching you. Whether she’s her paw is on my shoulder or arm or her head on my hand, she just always has to be touching us. She is a sweetheart.
